You can choose how the user receives With appropriate rights, you can indicate how users receive notifications about events based on the type of event.
If the corresponding contact details have been entered for the user, you can choose any method, to have the system sends notifications send notifications by email, text, pager, voice, and web page when an event of this type occurs and, in addition, when a user edits the event or the user's resource is added to the event. The user may also receive a notification when is started, updated, and possibly ended. If the event is ended quietly, no notifications are sent.
Event notifications sent via email Email and text pager notifications contain high-level details, such as including the name of the event, the name of the individual who created or edited the eventit, and the affected regions. To make event access even easierOffering quick access to the event, the email notification and text notifications also includes include a link to EMResource that the user can click to open the Log In page.You can also subscribe the user to your region's ad hoc events by selecting notification methods associated with the Ad Hoc Event typethe event page in EMResource.
For some event types of events , you can also set a limit on notifications. If the event supports this featurenotifications to only be sent when the event involves resources with which the user is associated. If this option is supported, the My Resources Only check box appears in the Notification Limit column.
If you select this check box for an event type, the system sends notifications to the user only when one or more of that user's resources are involved in the event.

To manage a user's event notification
- From any page, open the Setup menu in the main navigation bar and Point to Setup and in the list, click Users. The Users List opens.
- Locate the user and, on that row, click the Editlink. The Edit User page opens.
- In the Notifications section, make sure the appropriate contact details have been added and are valid.
- In the User Preferences section, click click Event Notification Preferences. The Event Notification Preferences for (user) page opens.
- For each each Event Type, select the check box for the notification the notification methods you want to enable (for example, E-mail, Text, Pager, Voice, or or Web Page).
- If you want to limit notifications to events that involve your resources, under Notification Limitunder Notification Limit, select the My Resources Only check box.
- Click Save.
